During the development of a new system in the field of Autonomous Driving, a strategic business programme of an international Tier1 has been in a deep project crisis. Due to the strategic importance of the system – the market entry took place with the launch of a new vehicle generation of the customer – the programme was escalated to the board level of both companies. After the programme was taken over, a restructuring of the team was undertaken and a large number of task forces were launched, involving various corporate functions (IT, HR etc.). Thomas Schmidt was responsible for the overall management and overall leadership of the project teams. The programme was continuously in task force mode until the successful introduction of series production. After the successful series launch, the product represented a worldwide benchmark in the field of parking systems.
