One of the largest automotive suppliers in the world, is launching a corporate and global cost reduction and productivity programme to increase its competitiveness. The programme will be extended to all areas of the company, development, materials, production, logistics and administration. Thomas Schmidt takes over the management of a Quick-Saving project together with a selected project team from the consulting firm McKinsey. He will then take over the management of the programme for the Powertrain Electronics Division. In addition to target definition, implementation tracking and reporting, he is responsible for implementation, training and support at the Regensburg (Germany), Toulouse (France) and Ichon (Korea) sites. As a key success factor for the targeted turnaround, the division will return to positive EBIT within a year. The programme is generating savings of more than EUR 60 m in each of three consecutive financial years.
